As you've seen on my "About Mrs. Hanon" page, I've had the wonderful opportunity to travel since I was little. Traveling is part of everyone's life, and we will see that in the books we read this year, too. Although you may not have travelled to as many far away places as I have, you too have travelled. Perhaps it's only to the next county or state, but we've all seen different locals and lived a different journey. Since everyone's life is one-of-a-kind, only you have experienced your life-journey like you did. So what do you do about it. . . you share it!

Directions

  1. On a piece of looseleaf paper, create a list of all the places you've visited on your life-journey so far.
  2. Go through your list, and put the places you've been in chronological order on a timeline.
  3. Create a travel journal for your timeline, including the date you visited the location and a description of what happened there.
  4. Go to Google Maps and click on "My Maps" on the upper left side of the screen
  5. Log into google using the username name: hannonc@lasalleschools.net and the password: 2011schoolyear
  6. Click on "Create New Map" directly under where "My Maps" is
  7. You may zoom in and out of the world or country using the "+" and "-" bar on the left-hand side of the map
  8. In chronological order, put blue markers on all of the places you've visited along your life-journey.
  9. Once you've placed the marker, make sure that you name it and describe what it is.
  10. After you've labeled all the places you've been, you may add up to 3 more markers on your map. These are places you'd like your life-journey to lead to.
  11. When you've finished, be sure to save your journey.
  12. We will be sharing our maps with the class when we're finished!!!
